Schecter Stiletto Extreme-4 Bass Guitar (4 String, Black Cherry)

This is an electric bass guitar which looks unlike any other. Just seeing the shape of this powerful guitar is to wonder about the musical possibilities that are available to you. This is a bass guitar which is aimed at professionals but one which is also open to all bass players. This is a guitar with a lot of stage presence. Let’s take a closer look.

  • Mahogany Body/Quilted Maple Top
  • Diamond Active pickups
  • Diamond Bass Bridge

Body & Neck

The body is solid mahogany with a maple top. We are already off to a great start. The classic cutaway design not only makes the guitar look (and sound) amazing but it also lets you get into the higher frets, and you can configure the guitar for left and right-handed use.

As we move up, you will notice a solid maple neck, continuing the dark wood and solid design. Maple is durable and will last. It also allows you to add pressure to the neck when you are playing. On the neck, you have a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard. That is a lot of frets. With so many frets, the guitar is opened up to a lot of playing styles and is a versatile bass guitar.

Hardware

There is a lot to like here when it comes to hardware, and some beginners may shy away from it, but with a little knowledge, the controls are open to everyone.

There are four machine heads on the tuning pegs which are made in-house, and a high-quality (and attractive) Diamond Bass bridge. The black chrome of the hardware showcases the design of the body without taking away from it and matches each of the possible finishes.

You get simple and effective electronics. There are two active pickups, master volume control, mix knob, and two-tone settings. You get a lot of customization with these controls, with the mix knob being able to set the balance between the two pickups.

Sound

When you start to play, you will notice that this guitar has a refreshingly modern sound. You will also get equal enjoyment out of plucking the strings with a finger or a pick, and strumming is also a joyful experience. The strings are bright and lively, and this shines through in your music.

The sound also opens the guitar up to beginner players. You may not get the best sound in the world, but you are not expecting that going by the price, but the sound is warm and balanced. The guitar is very forgiving which learners will enjoy.

Put all of this together, and you have a guitar which is modern and balanced.

This is a guitar for professional guitar players at an affordable price, and also a worthy investment for beginners. It can be easy to learn on this guitar and, with so many controls at your disposal, you can customize your sound again and again. We love how this guitar looks and will bring a real presence to your play when you are on stage.
