Body & Neck

This Yamaha guitar has a classic dreadnought body, and the top is crafted from solid Sitka spruce, a fantastic wood with a subtle grain. The top is high-quality but nothing overly fancy, however, when you look at the sides and back, you start to see little hints of luxury. Rosewood has been used for the back and sides, a tonal wood which helps to create a sound like no other.

The neck is maple and has a rosewood fretboard, which helps to compliment the back and sides. The frets are smooth and comfortable, great for beginners, and the bridge is also crafted from rosewood. Everything is solid and put together really well, giving an amazing sounding instrument.

Where Yamaha has gone above and beyond is in the bracing pattern. Unique software has been used to calculate the optimum bracing pattern for the inside of the body, taking into account the dimensions and the materials. That software has got it spot on, and the acoustics are beautiful.

Hardware

The body is where the action is, and the hardware is not too bad too. There are a rosewood fingerboard and saddle, with a high-quality nut. The strings are steel and give a professional sound when played.

On the headstock, you have die-cast tuners, which hold the tension of the string and help to keep the guitar in tune for longer. There is also an adjustable truss rod which further helps to maintain the tension in the strings and makes the guitar more playable, allowing you some customization over the shape and length.

Sound

Due to the unique bracing, this is one of the best sounding guitars on the market. Yamaha has produced this guitar for many years, and there is a reason why they keep producing it. There are some expensive guitars which sound cheap, but this one sounds professional. Even as a beginner, you will notice the beauty in the sound, and be impressed with how well you can play.

The dreadnought body has a signature sound, and the core of that is a rich tone. The body also helps to project the music through a room, filling it with warmth. There is a lot of sustain, great resonation, and incredible note separation.
